Legal Guidance

Know Your Rights:
Home education is a legal option for parents in the UK. You have the right to provide your child with an efficient, full-time education suited to their age, ability, and any special educational needs they may have.

Deregistration Process:
If your child is currently attending a school, you will need to deregister them to begin home education. This process involves notifying the school in writing. For detailed instructions, including information on requesting consent for children attending a special educational needs school arranged by the Local Authority, visit our Deregistration Process Page.
